Last season it was close, very close. Manchester United took to the title and were chased all the way by Chelsea. Everything changes over the summer for Premier league football sides with managers, players and coaches leaving clubs. New, unheard of, players will be brought and some well known stars will be gracing the English league. Its an exciting time for football and betting fans all over the country.

The big four, United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal all have a chance, but will need to show consistency throughout the whole season to take the title off United.

Arsenal:

Arsenal started last season in excellent form and were leading the pack for several months. However they lacked a consistent goal scorer and this paid during the second half of the season. Arsene Wenger will have to do some work in the transfer market to replace Emmanuel Adebayor and increase the Gunner's fire power, if they can do that they will be very serious contenders.

Chelsea:

Chelsea came extremely close to taking the title last season and with new boss Luiz Felipe Scolari at the helm they will no doubt be playing attacking, attractive football. The only concern for some Chelsea fans is Scolari's defensive record. This is an area he will have to get right if he wants to produce consistent results and win the title which has eluded the club for two season. If they can build from a solid defense they may well overpower their rivals.

Liverpool:

It's said before every season begins. "Liverpool can challenge for the title this year". Yet they always under perform. Even with Fernando Torres's 33 goals last season they only managed to finish 4th and will need to improve a great deal over the summer. Spanish hot shot David Villa has been linked with the club, and if he signs for the Reds they will boast arguably the strongest attacking force in the league. If not they will need to improve their consistency throughout the duration of the season.

Manchester United:

Manchester United are favourites to retain their status as the best team in the country by winning the league for a third successive season. If Ronaldo leaves they will lose the current best player in the world. Carlos Queiroz looks set to leave for the Portugal national side job and he will especially missed. His impact has been profound, coaching the players and helping them win two league titles and the Champions league last season. Even if Queiroz and Ronaldo leave Old Trafford this summer, they will certainly be the team to beat next season.

Our Tip:

Chelsea at 7/4 - Scorlari is a great coach and Chelsea will be determined to beat United this season after losing the title race and Champions league final. It will be close again but Chelsea to nip it at the end.
